I'm back! And very, very Grateful!
Stimulated by an e-mail from a very nice chap, JT Chandler, who has been using some of my articles on his website www.jtchandler.com, I decided to post some of the words I sent to him...
"Hi there! You must have thought I’d dropped off the edge of the planet! It has been one of those weeks! Still living, still laughing and isn’t the world a wonderful place! Coming back from a long meeting the sky was that brilliant blue that you can’t replicate, the clouds were very sculptural and the sun was giving everything a golden glow. Not silver linings, but golden ones! How lucky I am to have that given to me!"
I am lucky. Very lucky. I have even started a Gratitude List for 2007 to focus my mind on how fortunate I am. By listing at the end of the day all the things I am particularly grateful for that day really helps me to put things into perspective. The list needen't be long, although to date I haven't had much trouble filling a page every day in my little notebook. The entries needn't be about anything ground breaking, just things that make you feel good or grateful. I have done this in the past, and suggest it to my clients, but I am cultivating an attitude of happiness, which, like all new habits, needs to be worked on! I am finding the process very calming at the end of the day, which ensures I am ready for sleep.
It's not quite the end of this day, but I can already think of many things to go on my list - the lovely sight I mentioned above; successful meetings; raw carrots (these really make me feel good when I eat them!); simple meals; water...... I could go on, but I think you get the idea!
I am also registered on the website www.43things.com where you can set yourself goals and let others know how you're doing, as well as supporting other people's goals. I'll probably be adding some of my entries from there onto this blog, so should be less random in my ramblings!
